A well-trained, licensed esthetician will help determine whether facials and masks are the right path or if one should consider dermabrasion or even laser, filler, or injectable therapies. A professional esthetician knows when to refer clients to a dermatologist.

Erhard says a first visit sets the tone for a long-term routine. After a thorough, gentle cleansing, the esthetician magnifies and analyzes her client's skin. The analysis will consider skin type, condition and health. The esthetician notes small scars, large pores, hyperpigmentation (dark spots), fine lines, or broken capillaries. She’ll ask personal questions to create exactly the right program for each patron.

Making Over for Evening Glamour

If makeup is the thing and a vacation isn't complete without a glamourous casino evening, Carlena Mills, Actique’s assistant manager at the Beau, makes eyes the focal point.

"Detail your eyes," she suggests. "Go smokey, sultry."

Actique's visitors can ask questions, find products and techniques to take home and receive a complimentary mini-make over. A full makeover and consultation, including skin care advice comes in at about $55. Beautiful skin and a touch of glamour make any woman revel in positive self-esteem.
